Costly pay transparency penalties are on the rise

A recent Seattle Times article highlighted the increasing number of class action lawsuits filed against business owners for alleged non-compliance with the state’s pay transparency requirements for job postings. We have heard from members experiencing this.

You could be subject to civil penalties of up to $5,000 per applicant, attorneys’ fees and other costs if your job postings are not compliant.

Join Catherine Morisset, an employment attorney from Fisher Phillips, in this members-only webinar to learn the rules of pay transparency at 10 a.m., April 3.

Take action🚨: Unemployment benefits and natural gas ban

The Senate is considering a proposal to extend unemployment benefits to workers who choose to go on strike. Contact your lawmaker TODAY and ask them to OPPOSE HB 1893.

The proposed ban on natural gas is back! The hospitality industry will be severely impacted if utilities have the right to decide who, where and when to serve their customers. Tell your lawmaker to OPPOSE HB 1589.

Webinars and Podcasts

If a cyberattack can affect a multi-billion dollar hotel group, it can happen to you.

A ransomware group compromised MGM Resorts by logging into LinkedIn, finding an employee and calling the help desk. After that, everything from hotel room digital keys to slot machines were affected. Even websites for its many properties went offline. Guests found themselves waiting in hours-long lines to check in and get physical room keys and handwritten receipts.

Our upcoming webinar at 10 a.m. Feb. 28 will focus on specific cybersecurity challenges for the hospitality industry. We will cover several growing threats, practical solutions and the tools available.
